'Brian May' performed by

Ralph Derksen

Ralph was 9 years old when he started playing the guitar. After 2 years of playing classical/acoustic guitar, he switched to electric guitar. At the age of 13 he lost the fun in playing, and hesitated to stop, until he heard the song Paradise City by Guns N’ Roses. That was the moment he realized what he wanted to do. From that day, he practiced 6 or 7 hours a day and developed mad skills!

When he was around 14 years old, he started to participate jam sessions at places such as Trianon and Merleyn (Nijmegen). He really learned to improvise and play together with other musicians. At the age of 16 he started prior education at the Conservatory, but quitted after two years.

He worked at a metal factory for a year, and when he was 19 he got deeper in the jam session scene, playing 4 or 5 nights a week. He even jammed with Richie Kotzen and got a masterclass from Steve Vai!

Between the ages of 17 and 23 he was playing in several bands, but nothing really serious. He kept on developing his skills over the years, and now he’s here for you, better than ever before!

This prodigy from Nijmegen is, 27 years old and just one big chunk of musical soul. He really gives you the feeling that Brian May is there on stage, a couple of feet away. Every tone just right with that characteristic laid back playing style!
