Mick Gravee (35, NL) is a professional drummer, teacher, demonstrator & clinician. He is also an endorser of the Zildjian, Mapex, Roland & Aquarian brands.
At the age of 18 he studied Jazz/Light Music at the Conservatory of Maastricht and from the age of 20 he has his own drum school in Roermond as well as in Geleen.
With examples like Jeff Porcaro, Dave Weckl, Simon Phillips & Virgil Donati, Mick has developed a style over the years that can be applied in multiple music styles. Versatility is a must to survive in contemporary music!
In 2011, Mick won the Central European title in the Roland V-Drums World Championship, which allowed him to represent Central Europe in January 2012 in the Final Live @ The House of Blues in the Walt Disney Park in Los Angeles. An experience he will never forget!
Over the years Mick has had the opportunity to collaborate both in the studio and live with countless fantastic musicians/artists, here is a small collection:
Dreamteam, Shirma Rouse, Maan, Leona Philippo, De Coronas, Anita Meijer, Universe, Bert Heerink, Tony Spinner (ToTo), Jessie Galante, Dimension12, Andrew Gouche (Chaka Khan & Prince), Sun Caged, Ignazio Di Salvo, Joop Wolters & Marcel Coenen.
In recent years Mick has laid a foundation together with some very skilled music friends in the form of an artist backing band. This is the TDE-Band. At home and abroad, artists will be accompanied by these fantastic musicians.
In addition, Mick will also frequently be seen with De Coronas (Stand – Up Pop, national & international) where, in addition to drum duties, he is now also the tour manager & band leader.
Clinics for the Zildjian, Mapex & Roland brands are his favourite pastime and that is why he will regularly be seen in music stores & music fairs. Come and have a look at one of Mick’s clinics! Besides the necessary tips about equipment, he also gives a number of drum tips and exercises for the drummer at home!
And last but not least, the adventure of “Queen Must Go On” (Winner of the SBS6 TV Show “The Tribute – Battle of The Bands) has now been added, something that Mick thinks is very cool to be able to do. Music by Queen needs no further explanation and stands alone. Together with old friend Ward Palmen on vocals and new music friends Geert & Ralph they storm almost all sold-out halls & squares. It is a joy to be part of that. Queen’s repertoire is very diverse and that never makes a performance boring. Hopefully this beautiful period can continue for a long time!
